Key Criteria for Studying in the United Kingdom

1. Academic Eligibility

1. International students in the UK are permitted to work while pursuing their studies:
- During Term Time: Up to 20 hours per week (part-time).
- During Holidays: Over 30 hours per week (full-time).

2. Scholarship

There are several ways in which British institutions provide financial assistance to overseas students, which in turn helps to pay for things like course fees and living expenses. The amount of financial aid granted to students entirely relies on the programme they enroll in and the university they pick.

English Proficiency Requirements

Test	Requirements
IELTS	If you have scored 60 or more in English in 12th, then no need of IELTS
For Post-Graduate	6.5 with not less than 5.5 or 6.0 with not less than 5.5
For Under-Graduate	6.0 with not less than 5.5
PTE	Overall 52 with 52 in each module
UKVI Requirement	Scores between 5.5 and 6.5 with no less than 5.5 for both under-grad and post-grad
UKVI IELTS	Overall band score of 5.5 with not less than 5.5 for each module
TOEFL	Scores between 60 and 90 overall

3. Visa Process and Requirements:

The visa application is evaluated under the new point based standards. To get a student visa, you need to acquire 40 points. 30 points are granted for your confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) number and the original documents submitted to get the CAS latter.

Your bank statement stating that you have sufficient money to meet the maintenance cost to give you the additional 10 points.

In order to qualify for a Tier 4 Student Visa, you need to have the following:

An unconditional offer letter, i.e. the CAS letter of a place where you intend to study your desired programme
Pass the necessary english proficiency requirements and produce a document for the same
Provide sufficient funds by way of your bank statement stating that you will be able to sustain yourself and pay for your course

4. Visa processing time:

The UK Student Visa processing time is divided into 3 categories.

Super Priority - Visa shall be granted within 24 business hours of applying.
Priority Visa - Priority Visa applicants are granted visa within 3-5 business days.
Normal Visa - Normal visa applications usually take 3 weeks to grant the visa.

5. English Proficiency Requirements:

IELTS
- Exemption: No IELTS required if:
  - You scored 60% or higher in 12th-grade English, OR
  - You provide a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate stating that your previous education was conducted in English.
- Postgraduate:
  - Band: 6.5 (minimum 5.5) or 6.0 (minimum 5.5).
- Undergraduate:
  - Band: 6.0 (minimum 5.5).
PTE
- Overall: 52 (minimum 52 per module).
UKVI English
- Band: 5.5–6.5 (minimum 5.5 for all levels).
UKVI IELTS
- Band: 5.5 (minimum 5.5 per module).
TOEFL
- Score: 60–90.

6. UK Visa Process

Points-Based System (40 Points)
- 30 Points:
  - Issued for Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) and related documents.
- 10 Points:
  - Awarded for financial proof (e.g., bank statement).

7. Eligibility Checklist

CAS Letter: Proof of admission into a recognized UK institution.
English Proficiency: Valid IELTS, TOEFL, PTE scores, or MOI certificate.
Financial Evidence: Bank statement proving funds for tuition and living expenses.

8. Visa Processing Time

Super Priority: Decision in 24 hours.
Priority Visa: Processed in 3–5 business days.
